Saturday 28th November 2015 in Johannesburg. It is 05:00 PM. At the Michelangelo Hotel, a crowd of people is rushing to the registration and media accreditation facilities for the 7th Africities Summit, which opens officially this Sunday 29th of November at the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg.
Politicians, media, traditional authorities, simple delegates. Everyone is taking the final step to attending the three-year Pan-African gathering. The Organisational Committee is dedicated to working hard in order to satisfy each one of the Africities’ 2015 delegates.
From the airport to Sandton, the Summit announces itself. Sandton Convention Center and its surroundings are decorated with the event’s banners and colours; and people are rushing to book their accommodation in the already fully booked hotels surrounding the Summit venue.
The Summit, which ends this Wednesday, 3rd December 2015, is expecting 15 000 delegates.
